That means the basic fundamentals of football are gradually increased and applied to all exercises and games involving the sport. Students will assume the role of a doctor and learn how the body and organs work, how to use medical instruments, and even tie knots like a real surgeon. Each student receives their own stethoscope that really works. Each child receives a diploma as a graduate of Little Medical School at the completion of the course. Day 1: What is in the Doctor’s Bag? 1. Name and define 3 instruments used by doctors 2. Perform parts of a doctor’s exam using the 3 instruments 3. Understand the purpose of each instrument Day 2: All about the Heart! 1. Explain heart facts and how it works 2. Identify the different parts of the heart and know what it looks like 3. Discuss how the stethoscope aids in hearing normal and abnormal heart sounds Day 3: All about the Lungs! 1. Understand how lungs work 2. Are you ready for a summer filled with adventure, learning, and fun? At Sundial Farmstead, we offer experiences on a real, working farm where children can explore, create, and grow! A Day at Camp: Each day begins with a gathering of singing and readings from a classic book, followed by rotations through farm activities, morning snack, hands-on agriculture or forestry lessons, and creative handicrafts. After lunch, campers will enjoy free play and relaxation before diving back into an afternoon rotation of activities - sports, nature study & science notation journals, and additional farming activities. We wrap up each day with group clean up time. This ensures that kids learn how to maintain a well-ordered environment and leave camp feeling satisfied with their accomplishments!

We also believe in the power and beauty of nature. We hold value in the important benefits it brings. Being outdoors brings increased happiness and reduces cortisol levels. We see better sleep, cognitive function and overall well being in ourselves. Here is a bit about our camp days: Drop Off is from 9am-9:30 and pick up is between 2:30-3 pm. During our days together at Hilltop Creative Summer Camp we will start our mornings off with free exploration, morning greetings, snack and an indoor creative activity. We will have outdoor time on neighborhood hikes and also will visit our local playgrounds and recreational areas Bernal Heights, Holly Park and St Mary's. World Cuisines! - Week 6 SUMMER CAMP MENU A culinary adventure around the globe! This week explores international favorites, including Mexican dishes, Belgian waffles, French sauces and desserts, chicken kabobs, naan bread, and more. Perfect for curious cooks who love trying new flavors. (Note: The menu is subject to change based on ingredient availability.) ABOUT SUMMER CAMP: Whether your child likes to bake, create, roast, sauté, fry, or blend, we have a camp for all interests. Our camps are organized into 3 age groups, so all chefs team up with their peers. All chefs will get to taste everything that they cook. All recipes will be sent home for later preparation. A child may also pack up any uneaten tastings to share at home. This is a hands-on cooking camp. For our Tiny Chefs ages 4-6, we use time fillers because our little ones get tired of cooking for 3 hours, and/or it is difficult to keep their attention for this long period. So, our Chefs will play games, or let our Tiny Chefs color, or play other food-related games to finish our time. Unless you purchase a 30-minute Pre-Care pass, you may arrive NO MORE THAN 10 minutes early for check-in, and you MUST stay with your child until the start of camp. Also, unless you purchase an After-Care pass, any guardian who is late picking up their child will be charged $50 for every 10-minute increment upon completion of the camp – unless we are notified of the tardiness in advance. Find Your Voice: A Confidence & Communication Workshop for High School Girls High school is a time when many girls become more aware of how they sound, how they’re perceived, and whether they should speak up at all. Whether it’s contributing in class, navigating social situations, or preparing for interviews, confidence in communication matters more than ever! This 2-hour workshop is designed specifically for teen girls to build that confidence in a way that feels comfortable, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable. Participants will learn how to: Speak clearly and confidently Organize their thoughts quickly—even on the spot Manage nerves and self-doubt Express their ideas in a way others listen to Most importantly, this is not a lecture-style class. Students will spend the majority of the time actively speaking, practicing, and receiving supportive coaching and feedback in a small, welcoming group environment. There is no pressure to be perfect and no intimidating moments—just real, guided practice that helps girls feel more at ease using their voice. Get ready for an exhilarating summer at Falcon Camp Newspaper! Discover your inner journalist as you master the art of writing, interviewing, and photography. Campers will hone their writing skills and craft captivating stories. By the end of the week, these budding journalists will produce their very own edition of La Salle's award-winning Falconer newspaper!

Budding artists capturing multiple objects tend to begin with the largest or most attractive one first, finish it, and move on to the next. By studying multiple object composition, line and air perspective, as well as color mixing, students learn to depict multiple three-dimensional objects and build a solid foundation for future artistic study. Our academic method of teaching will open the eyes and minds of aspiring artists to see the myriad of colors and tones in everyday objects. With these foundational skills, students will learn techniques to express their creativity. Classes alternate between Drawing and Painting on a weekly basis. All skill levels welcome. Students will learn to draw and paint multiple objects as a group taking into account proportions, depth, structures, along with light and shadows. Using acrylic or oil, students will flex these core principles of composition to attain the freedom to draw and paint three-dimensional still-life, landscapes and fictional paintings. Procuring painting and drawing materials are the responsibility of each student, but we are of course happy to advise which ones we think are best.
